VINTAGE EPHEMERA For this swap you will send TWO PARTNERS at least 3 pieces of vintage ephemera. More is fine, less is not! What is EPHEMERA? Definition of ephemera 1: something of no lasting significance —usually used in plural 2: plural : paper items (such as posters, broadsides, and tickets) that were originally meant to be discarded after use but have since become collectibles So, your bus ticket from last week is ephemera, but it is not vintage ephemera. Your grandmother's bus ticket from 50 years ago is. We don't have to be too strict here, but 30 years is a good minimum number when deciding if something is vintage or not. Personally, I don't really think of something as being vintage unless it is from the 70's or before, but this has to do with my age as it is hard to admit that things from my lifetime are vintage. :-) Just do your best. No printouts, photocopies, or reproductions. We are talking about actual items that were used over 30 years ago. This website has a nice long list of items considered ephemera if you need some guidance. Some people collect ephemera for it's own sake, and some people use it in collage and other art forms. Unique fonts, layouts, handwriting, and images make for a more interesting piece. You can send anything that fits the above criteria, but I would encourage you to look at your partner's profile to see if you have anything they would especially appreciate. This swap is international, so please be prepared to send your items anywhere, and allow plenty of time for items to get to you if they are coming from another country. 4.9 rating required, no new swappers. I want everyone to feel comfortable sending out our precious bits of paper! If you receive 3 pieces of vintage ephemera, please rate your partner a 5 regardless of whether it is your style or preferred type.
