Welcome to the second swap for our hybrid journals! We are going to accomplish two things for our second swap.

The first thing we will be making are pockets. You’ll make a minimum of 4 different pockets. These can be very simple or very elaborate depending on your style of decorating. Here is a video demonstrating 6 different pockets that can be folded with just a sheet of paper. If you have your own favorite pocket designs, of course feel free to use those. There are additional inspiration videos below. You do not need to place these in your journal at this time. This is an email swap and you will just be sending your partner pictures.

The second thing we will make areTags. You’ll need at a minimum 4 tags, one to go go into each of your pockets. These can coordinate with the pockets or not, it is up to you and your style. Most of us like to have our pockets filled with multiple items, but for now let’s just make 4 tags, one for each pocket.

Send photos of 1) a minimum of 4 pockets 2) at least 4 tags and 3) if you have a different partner from our first swap, also share your cover and pages- a little extra inspiration!

You may want to have more pockets/tags in your final journal, but this will be the minimum requirement that each journal must have when swapping with someone else. It is fine to wait until putting your journal together to place the items then. We suggest keeping a box for this project that you can add all your items to as you go, keeping everything together until you are ready to assemble it into your final journal.

Please let us know if you have any thoughts or questions! We hope you’re enjoying working on these journals now and in the coming months! Anna, Jane and Nickalli
