About Me

Hello! I am here looking to send/swap postcards!

I love ocean themes, specifically things that are in the ocean or on the ocean; I am not a huge fan of the beach, unless there is a cat on it. I love forests, forest animals, cities where you are from, nature scenes, animals, cats, weasels, stoats, meerkats, river otters, and many others.

I love all things horror. I started watching horror movies from behind a chair when I was 6 years old. The older I get, the more I yelp and scream. I love it!!

I have two kitties at home. They are both tortoiseshell cats; one is black and orange and HUGE, the other is grey and cream and skinny.

I live in Northern Indiana. I have a son who attends Indiana University.

I work in Public Service.

My favorite flower is tulip, with peonies coming in second.

Halloween and Christmas tie for my favorite holidays. I love Fall, Snowmen, Scared black cats, witches.

Favorite Movies

I have movies I can watch over and over and over again. I love the Harry Potter series, The Goonies, The Road, Three Billboards, Passengers, The Hunger Games, The Wizard of Oz (the witch still gets me). There are too many to list!!!

As far as genre goes, horror all of the way, followed by mystery and crime.

Favorite Books

I listen to audio books as of late because I tend to fall asleep when I try to read and I cannot stay focused.

I LOOOOVE Whodunits! All day long! Mystery and Thrillers are awesome, SOME Chick Lit, Historical Fiction. I do NOT do Romance novels. I've tried. It just isn't for me.

Favorite Television

My current obsession is The Pitt! I have watched each episode three times. I have finished The Last of Us and await S3. I loved Ozark, Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, The Walking Dead, The handmaid's Tale, True Detective, Stranger Things, The Sopranos, Mad Men, Top of the Lake.

Older TV shows, from growing up, include The Golden Girls, Cheers, Friends, Seinfeld, Hunter, The X-Files, The A-Team, Family Ties

Favorite Crafts

I crochet, but I haven't done it in awhile. I can make afghans, dish rags, and adorable amigurumi animals. I have a sewing machine but I am not the best at it. I try.

I am a sticker and washi tape collector. I belong in a few groups on Facebook. We decorate small scenes with stickers and washi tape on postcards, and send them onto the next person. They are mailed in envelopes to protect them. They truly are works of art.

Favorite Music

I grew up in the 80s so OF COURSE I like 80s music. Specifically alternative, and some pop.

I was (still am) TOTALLY into Grunge. Bands I saw in concert include Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mudhoney, Afghan Whigs, Sonic Youth, Skinny Puppy, Danzig, Pantera, Jane's Addiction, PJ Harvey, ALICE IN CHAINS, The Rollins Band, Thought Industry, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Primus, The Meat Puppets, Seaweed, Veruca Salt, Godflesh, Oingo Boingo, and if you made it this far, I actually attended the 1992 Lollapalooza in Chicago.

With today's music... eh... I listen to so many audio books it is hard for me to listen to music. I do appreciate Lorde, Hozier, and I STILL love The Beastie Boys.

DISLIKES

As I said at the beginning of my profile, I am here for the postcards! But things I really do not like and have aversions to are male lions, any kind of monkey, sloths, spiders, and most insects. Please try not to creep me out.

THANKS!

Comment: Hello! Thank you so much for such a wonderful chunk of mail. I love all the postcards, especially the cat on the beach one! And all the other little cat goodies are so incredibly perfect. That "kitty town" washi sticker is one of the best things I've ever received. And thank you for sharing. So wonderful to have shared the city with your bestfriend!
Response: Hooray! I am glad everything arrived safely!! I love it when people love cats, because I love cats!! I typically take pictures of things I send out but I didn't take any pictures of this and IDK what the kitty town washi sticker is. Eeek! I am so excited to receive my swaps! Thank you for the kind rating.

Comment: Hello there Michelle! Looks like I'm the first to rate you, yippee! Lol !😆 TYVM for sharing your Indiana Cardinal postcard. I love it, along with your cute birds on swings stickers on back of PC and your vintage stamps! Every so often i use vintage stamps. You no doubt buy the vintage from etsy.com, correct? That's where I buy mine. I see by your profile, you're a big horror fan. As am I ! The scarier the better. Like you, I was around 6 yrs. old when I saw my first horror movie. My mom used love them and took me & my young siblings to the drive-in theater in our PJ's, ha! She never liked the concession stand and so made her own popcorn and brought Kool-Aid drinks. Most times it would a spur of the moment thing & she would wake us up and go. Of course it would be on a weekend. The first horror movie I saw was "Bucket of Blood" with Vincent Price. That scared the bejesus out of me. What about you? May I ask, where you bought your Birds on a swing stickers? I've not seen those before. Well, I guess I've talked your ear off enough. Take good care and be safe.
Response: Debbie! With this being my first swap I did not know exactly what to do... decorate, or be chatty. Or both! I am chatty by nature. Firstly, the stickers are all "Pipsticks" brand. I started getting them in a monthly subscription. Sometimes I just buy them directly from their weibsite when they have a big sale. I feel Bluejays sometimes get a bad rap for beign bad birds, but I think they're cool. Kind of like mini blue chickens if you ask me. :) Man, can they SCREECH. I am 50 years old (eek) and the first horror movie I can recall is actually The Exorcist. I wasn't supposed to be watching it, I was behind a chair, in the living room. I had to be EXTRA quiet so that my parents didn't know I was there. Man, it was hard. Projectile vomiting, the crucifix scene, the levitating bed, spinning head. It was a LOT. Luckily, my mom is wuss and did a lot of screaming and gasping, so it masked any sound from me. The second scary movie I remember is Children of the Corn. My BFF and were horror obsessed! I still love it, but she passed away last February. MOST of my stamps come from a website called Hipstamp. A few came from Etsy but I felt like I was paying too much! Ebay has some good auctions, but sometimes the stamps smell funny. I have a LOT that are lame, but I NEED to use them up. Otherewise, they're a waste of money!!! A friend of mine turned me on to Swap-Bot, as Postcrossing sometimes takes too long! I whole heartedly appreciate the 5 and the heart for the rating! I have signed up for a few swaps, I am only interested in postcards ATM.
