Here’s how you can put together your cheerful surprise:

Start by choosing a colorful envelope or decorating a plain one with stickers, washi tape, or drawings to make it visually appealing. My mail lady has mentioned to me how seeing my happy mail puts a smile on her face 😊

Gather at least five different flat items.

Here are some ideas:

Postcards or Greeting Cards

Handmade items such as ATC cards, bookmarks, cards, library pockets etc.

Stickers

Tea Bags

Recipe Cards (you can add your favorite fall recipe if you’d like)

Empherma

Washi Tape

Ribbon

Paper samples

Arrange your goodies in the decorated envelope, ensuring everything fits nicely without being too bulky.

Final Note: Don’t forget to include a little note to brighten their day, with your name and the title of the swap.

A small card with a handwritten note can add a personal touch. Happy swapping!

For this one you’ll send two Zines to your swap partner. They should be typical mini-zines or at least fit into a normal envelope.

The topic of the Zine is completely your choice, because you may already want to start making one before partners are assigned. Nevertheless there will be two weeks to send the items, in case you want to make something based off the interests of your swap partner.

You can easily participate, even if you’ve never made a zine before. Normally you can fold one mini booklet out of one piece of paper and then fill the pages with whatever you like.

Some ideas could be: an (illustrated) short-story, something about love, a hobby, about aliens, about your day\weekend\summer\holiday, your relation to taking the bus, the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear the word “growth” (works with any other words as well)

Or give yourself some inspiration when looking at the other persons profile. Zines can be literally about anything you like!

I personally like sending out copies, because I want to keep the original and eventually make even more copies to distribute in my hometown.

In case you need more time, let your swap partner know!
And don’t rate down if the zines are not your favourites, people have very different tastes and there goes a lot of effort into one of these.

Your zines are of course your zines and you can still distribute them how much you like, they’re not exclusively for this swap!

Happy Mail Scrapbooking/Journal Extravaganza

Hello! Welcome! This swap is inspired by the the Stuff the Mailbox swaps hosted by ladyaduial which were the best! I love scrapbooking and junk journaling and absolutely love receiving happy mail and hope this will be fun!

Happy Mail Scrapbooking/Journal Extravaganza (USA Only)

Ready to brighten someone’s day with a mailbox full of creative joy? In this swap, you’ll send envelopes stuffed with goodies that your partners can use for scrapbooking, junk journaling, crafting, or snail mail decorating. Each envelope should include a thoughtful assortment of flat items - at least 10 please - but feel free to go beyond that if you’re inspired. There’s no required envelope size; just make sure your package feels fun, generous, and worth your partner’s time and effort.

You’ll have 5 partners, so plan ahead to ensure you have enough materials to create unique and interesting envelopes for everyone. Be sure to include a small note with your Swap-bot username and the swap name so your partners can rate you easily. Take care to package your items neatly and decorate the envelope to spread some joy! No more than one stamp needed but stuff the envelope as much as you can under one ounce! Feel free to send more if you would like!

You can send almost anything that fits the creative theme. Some ideas include washi tape samples, stickers, die cuts, scrapbook paper, vintage book pages, journaling cards, postcards, stamped images, tags, notecards, envelopes, or ephemera. You might even want to include profile-based items for a personal touch. Just make sure everything you send is in good condition - nothing torn, stained, or unusable.

If there’s ever a mailing delay or issue, please reach out to your partner and communicate kindly. This swap is about connection and creativity, not perfection, so let’s keep it positive and supportive. I have experienced mailing issues myself and a gentle check-in letting your partner know is all that is needed to make it right!

This is a USA-only swap, and participants must have a rating of 4.7 or higher to join. Let’s fill those mailboxes with color, inspiration, and kindness - one envelope at a time.
